Olena Shtepa

Olena is the Ukraine Community Liaison, energizing the response efforts of the NCC to the community's interest in supporting the arrival and settlement of Ukrainian individuals and families.

Originally from the Ukraine, Olena came to Canada in 2001 to study at York University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts focused on Business, Society and Political Science, and worked in a variety of roles in the IT sector. 

Having gone through the immigration process herself and a recent newcomer to Peterborough, Olena knows first hand that facilitating positive community interactions for newcomers goes a really long way to kick starting their lives in Canada. 

She feels very fortunate to be part of the NCC team and to have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of newcomers.
