Red Dress Day

May 5 All day

Today, we honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S).

Red dresses, often seen hanging in public spaces, symbolize the absence and loss experienced by families and communities across the country. They are also a powerful call to action—a reminder that more must be done to ensure justice, safety, and healing.

At the New Canadians Centre, we are committed to continuing the journey of Truth and Reconciliation by learning, listening, and standing in solidarity with Indigenous communities.
