Tax Clinics

Update March 16: Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Ontario, the New Canadians Centre will be suspending all group programs and activities until further notice. As a result, Income Tax Clinics on March 24 and April 2 have been cancelled.

At present, the April 16 Tax Clinic is still scheduled, but this may change depending on developments with COVID-19.

A staff member from the New Canadians Centre will make contact with all registered clients to provide further information.

Have you been in Canada for 5 years or less? Does your income range between $0 to $30,000? Are you looking for assistance to file your taxes?

The NCC is offering free tax clinics for registered clients of the New Canadians Centre. Trained volunteers will help you submit your taxes. There will be four tax clinic dates: March 12, 24, April 2 & 16.

Appointments must be booked ahead of time. Appointment times are available between 9 am and 4 pm on the above-specified dates.

Please bring the following information to your appointment:

• Social Insurance Number
• Name and Date of Birth
• Identification – Drivers Licences / PR Card / Passport
• Address and Phone number
• T4 / T5007  / T2202A
• Rent receipts for 2019
• T4s and/or T5007 (If applicable)
• Receipts for children’s recreation activities
• Receipts of any donations made
• Banking information for Direct Deposit if it is not already set up
• Last years tax return (for those who were here last tax season)
