Canadian Multicultural Festival

June 27 is Canadian Multiculturalism Day. It is a day to celebrate the contributions of the diverse cultures that make up our home on Turtle Island, Canada. The day was first commemorated in 2003.
From June 18 to 27, the New Canadians Centre (NCC) will be organising the fourth Canadian Multicultural Festival in Nogojiwanong-Peterborough. In 2024-2025, the NCC supported over 2000 clients hailing from over 99 countries and speaking more than 70 different languages. Each of them brings unique customs, music, dance, food, and stories contributing to a vibrant community.
We invite you to join us for a multi-day festival that tells a story of our multicultural Peterborough through dance, stories, food and crafts.

Home, Disrupted: Stories of Displacement and Belonging - A World Refugee Day Community Conversation
Join us for an evening of storytelling, reflection, and connection as we honour World Refugee Day through lived experiences.
Home, Disrupted brings together powerful voices from our community - refugees who have experienced displacement and the long journey of rebuilding, as well as local residents and volunteers who are part of that journey toward belonging.
Together, their stories explore what it means to lose a home, find safety, and create new roots in a new place.
This event invites us to listen deeply, build empathy, and reflect on the collective role we all play in shaping a welcoming community.
Let’s come together to mark World Refugee Day with honesty, hope, and human connection.
