The Peterborough Welcome Pass offers newcomers an opportunity to connect with the Peterborough City and County. Through the generous support of our partners, newcomers can access free or discounted local cultural activities and services.

The Peterborough Welcome Pass is valid for one year from the date issued to the holder.

Artspace is a non-profit artist-run centre and contemporary gallery that assists artists with the presentation of new work, changing in response to the needs of artists and working to engage and inform the public about their work.

Hope Mill

Hope Mill welcomes all newcomers to visit their facility. Free admission but donations gladly accepted.

A historic sawmill on the shores of the Indian River, it is operated by The Friends of Hope Mill Inc.; a not for profit corporation. Hope Mill provides people with the chance to see heritage equipment cutting and finishing lumber just like it was done by our pioneer ancestors. A woodworking museum and archival records are also on site.

The Kawartha World Issues Centre welcomes all newcomers to attend their events. Admission is free (with the exception of ticketed fundraising events).

The Kawartha World Issues Centre (KWIC) promotes dialogue and understanding of world issues to enable people to engage in positive social and environmental change. This is accomplished through organizing educational events and workshops, animating youth-led initiatives, facilitating working groups, supporting community research projects, internships and placements and sharing resources.

Step back in time at the Lang Pioneer Village, a living museum celebrating and preserving the rural history of our area. The museum features over twenty-five restored and furnished buildings constructed between 1825 and 1899 as well as actors who display life in the 1800’s.

The Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization recognizing and honouring the names, athletes and builders who have brought fame to the city and themselves. The Hall of Fame is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 am until 12 noon, during all sporting events and available to open for groups.

The Peterborough Public Library loans books, videos and music and offers a variety of programming for adults and kids. Library memberships are free for residents of the city of Peterborough.

Whetung Ojibwa Centre offers a spectacular collection of Native crafts as well as fine art, jewelry, moccasins, leatherwork and sculptures from Curve Lake First Nation and across Canada. The facility also is home to a museum, totem Poles, headdresses and dreamcatchers within their 10,000 sq ft building.
