During the school year, the New Canadians Centre’s Young Leaders (NCCYL) is a group is open to newcomer youth in high school looking to gain leadership skills and apply those skills through projects and events. Students gain volunteer hours for their involvement.
Attendance is voluntary according to the student’s schedule, except for the NCCYL executive team where each meeting is mandatory. If you are hoping to be part of the NCCYL Executive team, it is highly-recommended that you attend all meetings in September. Executive team members hold elected roles and serve a one-year term on NCCYL.
