Event Series: Women’s Group

Women’s Group

January 8 @ 11:00 am 12:30 pm

Join the Women’s Group for a special workshop:

“Welcome to Canada, and winter.

Winters in Canada can be difficult for new Canadians who come from warm climates & countries.

We would like to help you and your families learn how to adapt to this new environment by helping you to:

  • Understanding winter weather
  • How to dress for winter
  • What kinds of clothing and materials work best for winter & where to get them

And lastly, we would like to introduce you to winter activities i.e., hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing.

This series of workshops will be facilitated by a group of Outdoor Educators who have experience living and working outside in winter. We would like to share lessons we have learned with you, so you can make the most of your new home – Canada.

Facilitators:

  • Dorothy Green
  • Patricia Wilson
  • Milton Hill”
