Special Events Volunteer
Special Events Volunteer
As a Special Events Volunteer you will help make our many activities and events a reality. These events are not only a lot of fun, but also help to promote the New Canadians Centre and/or raise money. Examples of some past events include Soup and Salsa for Snofest, Multicultural Canada Day (with over 10,000 people in attendance), our Annual General Meeting, square dances, and our popular winter celebration at Market Hall.
Being a Special Events Volunteer may involve:
• Setting up and closing down venues
• Organizing activities (for example, children’s face painting at Canada Day)
• Preparing food
• General clean up
• Promotion, outreach, photography at events
This is not a regular position as the New Canadians Centre only holds about 8 events per year that require help. However, without our amazing team of events volunteers it would not be possible to host them.
If you are looking for a one-time opportunity with shifts anywhere from 3 – 9 hours, please keep your eye out this spring as we recruit over 130 volunteers for our annual Multicultural Cultural Canada Day Festival.
