Sometimes home is not a place. Sometimes home is an object, sometimes it is an idea, and sometimes home can be a person.
An ode is a short lyric poem that praises an individual, an idea, or an event. In this workshop, we will work on writing spoken word poems that celebrate the people, places and things that are important to us.
The workshop will involve performances by the facilitators and video examples of odes, as well as prompts and opportunities to write and share poems of your own.
Participants have the choice to attend this workshop in-person or online via video conferencing. The location for those attending in-person will be determined later. If you choose to attend in person, you must provide proof of double-vaccination and are required to wear your mask during the workshop.
This workshop is facilitated by Niambi Tree & Jon Hedderwick
