Sameer Bedrud

Sameer Bedrud was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. He graduated with a master’s degree in Human Rights and Transitional Justice from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights in Switzerland.

Sameer has 14 years of experience as a Diplomat within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan. He held different positions, the last was as a Counselor at the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Afghanistan in Geneva functioning as a political officer and in charge of human rights.

He arrived in Peterborough in September 2021. Sameer is looking forward to channelling his previous experience toward helping newcomers resettling in Canada.
