Volunteer Spotlight: David Walsh
Congratulations on your retirement, David Walsh!
This month, we want to include a special spotlight and thank David for his 15 years of volunteer service at the New Canadians Centre and contributions to making our community stronger.
We wish him all the best for the future as he retires from his work with our English and French groups.
David would like to share the following message with our NCC community,
“I have had the privilege for the past 15 years to be a volunteer at the New Canadians Centre and I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed this experience. It is humbling to hear from the members of the English and French conversation groups that our time together has been beneficial for you.
I want you to know that I feel that I too have benefitted greatly from the time that I spent with you. Listening to your stories and helping you to improve your language skills has been a very enriching experience for me and I am so pleased to have had this opportunity to interact with you.
After my first week at the NCC I knew that I was fortunate to be part of an organization where the staff have such a positive impact on the lives of newcomers to Canada. I have witnessed your dedication and commitment to your clients and I am fortunate to have had the privilege of working alongside such impressive individuals.
I wish everyone the best in your future endeavours.
Merci beaucoup.
David”
