Asuka Ballantyne Ono

Asuka was born in Japan and came to Canada in 2012. She completed her English As a Second Language studies at Trent University and graduated in 2016 with a Tourism and Travel Diploma from Fleming College. She was the President of school council in high school where she loved helping international students and learning about different cultures.

She was inspired by the programs and events that the New Canadians Centre offers to support newcomers and has always wanted to be a part of the team.

Outside of the New Canadians Centre, Asuka enjoys sewing clothes and accessories, dancing ballet and jazz, and meeting people from all over the world.
