Bhisham K. Ramoutar

Bhisham is a newcomer from Trinidad & Tobago and has also lived in Guyana for 13 years. He moved to Canada in 2013 as an international student, graduating from Trent University in 2017 with a BA (Hons) in History and International Development Studies. His studies largely focused on human rights and social justice from historical and contemporary perspectives. Bhisham is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Bhisham joined the New Canadians Centre staff in 2017 and has experience in post-secondary student services, non-profit project management, and mental health counselling. Outside of work, Bhisham enjoys walks in nature, cooking, photography and watching television.
