Carolina is a Settlement Counsellor at the New Canadians Centre, supporting newcomer clients as they adapt to life in Canada. She provides orientations and information about Peterborough, referrals to community supports, general immigration and citizenship information, and is a listening ear for newcomers from around the world.
Carolina was born and raised in Colombia. She came to Canada in June 2000 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Trent University in 2005.
Before joining the NCC, Carolina volunteered with the NCC as well as the Peterborough Public Library. Outside of the NCC, Carolina and her husband run a small business selling coffee beans from her family farm in Colombia. She enjoys learning from different cultures, walking on trails and playing in the park with her 5-year-old son.
