Workshop Goals:
- To equip cultural groups with effective strategies for engaging their community
- To enhance the outreach efforts and presentation skills of participants during fairs, booths, and other events.
- To foster a sense of confidence and capability within cultural groups to represent themselves effectively.
Speaker bio:
Mauricio Interiano, originally from Honduras, made Canada his home in 2010. Armed with a BA in International Development and Sociology from Trent University, he further his expertise with a Master’s degree in International Development, specializing in Migration, from the Graduate Institute of Geneva in Switzerland.
His academic and professional journey reflects a commitment to community development, communications, engagement, Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and immigration issues. Mauricio wears multiple hats as the Community Engagement Officer at the New Canadians Centre. Simultaneously, he coordinates the Social Justice Certificate program, TEACH Outside the Box, in collaboration with KWIC (Kawartha World Issues Centre).
Beyond work and volunteering, Mauricio enjoys coffee, cooking, reading, walks, and travels with friends and family.
