2nd Annual Newcomer Health Fair – “Building Health and Wellness in Your Community”
The New Canadians Centre and Peterborough Immigration Partnership are pleased to invite you to the 2nd Annual Newcomer Health Fair.
Date: April 23, 2025
Time: 11am to 2pm (drop-in anytime)
Location: New Canadians Centre (221 Romaine St.)
Free – registration is not required
11:00am – 2:00pm Meet community organisations focused on health and wellness!
Drop-In to chat with staff from 25+ organisations and get your questions answers! Plus enjoy delicious food & win prizes!
11:15 – 11:45am Try It Chair Yoga
Yoga and stretching is a helpful activity for everyday wellness.
Join Kristina Domsic for a 20-minute session where she will walk you through simple moves and stretches you can do while seated in a chair.
12:00 – 12:30pm Try It Meditation
Meditation is a helpful way to deal with everyday stress. Take a moment to pause before lunch and join Alyssa Trick Mifflin in a short meditation focused on breathing, getting comfortable, and noticing your body.
1:00 – 1:45pm Presentation on Managing Stress
Did you know stress can be good and bad? We all experience it!
Join CMHA to learn about stress, how to notice it, and simple ways you can help manage everyday stress.
Interpretation available in Spanish, Arabic, Farsi/Dari, and Somali.
