Join us for the launch of the Peterborough-Nogojiwanong Workplace Inclusion Charter!
This event is for business leaders and organizations of all sizes who want to build a more welcoming and inclusive community. The Charter is a new toolkit designed to help you create a workplace where everyone feels they belong.
At the event, you’ll:
- Hear from a panel of local employers about their workplace inclusion initiatives.
- Learn how you can get involved with the Charter
- Step into the shoes of newcomers as they navigate the challenges of learning a new language and settling in. This hands-on session will provide you with practical, actionable strategies to support them on their journey.
We will provide a light lunch.

Workshop: In the Shoes of a Language Learner, New Canadians Centre Community Training Program
This experiential workshop aims to provide participants with insights into the challenges faced by newcomers who are learning a new language while settling into a new country.
Through interactive activities and scenarios, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the language learning journey and learn practical strategies for engaging newcomers whose first language is not English. This workshop includes an experiential element, activities, resource sharing, and small and large group discussion.
