Salwa was born in Sudan and graduated with a bachelor degree in Sociology and she also was trained as a social worker.

She came to Canada as a refugee, lived in Toronto and then moved to Peterborough 2008.

She loves working with newcomers and uses her experience to help them settle and integrate in the community. Salwa enjoys reading in Arabic and English and watching movies.
