Janine Appleby

Janine has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Rhetoric & Professional Writing) and a Bachelor Education degree (Elementary), with additional qualifications in Kindergarten and Classroom Management. She has previously been employed at the University of Waterloo working as a Community Advisor where she had the opportunity to work with international students and their families. She later worked in Continuing Education at Wilfrid Laurier University before returning to the Peterborough area. 

Before taking some time at home with her four children, Janine loved teaching in the Trillium Lakelands District School Board. She also enjoyed her time as an Early Childhood Educator at a local preschool before beginning her current role in the Childminding Program at the New Canadians Centre.  She has a passion for teaching and learning that she loves to share with all newcomer children who attend. Janine lives just outside of Peterborough with her husband and four children.
