“Building A Home” Book Reading & Activities – A Family Literacy Day 2022 Event

Celebrate Family Literacy With Us!

Building A Home tells the stories of six children from Syria, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Pakistan who are now living, playing, and going to school in Nogojiwanong-Peterborough. The children’s book is commissioned by the NCC, and written & illustrated by Casandra Lee.

Join us for a reading of the book by the author followed by some fun and creative art-based activities to help children and families learn about immigration while developing empathy, understanding, and self-reflection.

Please have basic art supplies on hand: paper, pencils, crayons, markers, etc.
