Thank you for welcoming newcomers and refugees with an open heart.
With the current pandemic, we are trying our best to meet clients' needs with an eye to their safety as well as the safety of our staff. As a result, we are not able to accept and distribute donations of gifts and toys this year.
Still, many of our clients are feeling isolated. If you would like to help, consider sending in a greeting card or drawing to a newcomer with a message of welcome, hope and encouragement, and good wishes for the coming year. You can even make it an all-ages activity and organise friends and families (virtually!) to do this together!
If you would like to make a gift, we suggest that you include a gift card in your envelope that staff can distribute to clients who could benefit from this extra support.
You can drop off your cards in the mailbox at our office at any time (221 Romaine Street; at the side of the building by the bicycle rack) with a note that they are part of the "Holiday Greeting" program. Please include your contact information so that we can thank you! We will distribute the cards in mid December.
Please contact Yvonne Lai if you have any questions about this program.
Donation of household items
Cleaning supplies, personal items and non-perishable food items
From time to time, we will organise a drive to collect these items to put into care packages for clients in need.
Please contact us to donate new and gently-used car seats that have not reached their date of expiry and have not been involved in an accident, as well as strollers in good working condition.
Clothing for babies, children and adults
We are not able to process and store clothing items. From time to time, we will put a call out in our newsletter and social media for school uniforms.
Furniture and appliances
Please contact us if you have an item to donate.
