How You Can Close Your Workforce Gap With International Students
Canada has announced ambitious new immigration targets to meet labour market needs & support economic prosperity. International students play a critical role in this. Businesses and organizations that tap into immigrant talent are deriving a competitive advantage and building their own future workforce resilience.
Peterborough is home to two post-secondary institutions – Trent University and Fleming College. Both attract considerable numbers of international students from across the globe.
The New Canadians Centre hosted a virtual info-session in January with presenters from Trent University, Fleming College, Carmela Valles Immigration Consulting, and local businesses to discuss all things international students and employment. The session covered topics including:
- how you can hire international students,
- ensure successful immigrant integration, and
- build a workforce that drives innovation and sustainability by keeping talent in Peterborough.
You can watch the video recording of the info-session and access the presentation slides and Q&A Transcript below.
